Small Schools Affinity Group Meeting:
How can we best support faculty in difficult times?
COVID-19 has increased the stress levels for all of us – and faculty members certainly have been put under more stress this year. Given the time and energy that is involved with teaching remote, in-person, or – for many schools – providing lessons both in-person and remotely, it is important for administrators to look for the best ways to support faculty members.
This session will begin with a brief introduction by the facilitators who will set up what they have seen and done over the past six months to support faculty members. Participants will then go into breakout rooms to discuss what they’ve done and learned, topics could include:
• Leading through the fog
• Accommodating faculty and staff in high-risk categories
• Creating “work-arounds” in Continuous Improvement and AoL
• Fighting Covid fatigue (self-care)
• Maintaining engagement and morale among faculty and staff
Speakers:
Diane Anstine, Dean, North Central College
Matthew Rousu, Dean, Susquehanna University
Astrid Sheil, Dean, Shenandoah University
