Today, data and analytics drive every business function including accounting. Therefore, integrating business analytics into MS Accounting and having it STEM-designated can significantly improve program outcomes and opportunities for accounting students. Moreover, this would also attract the international accounting talent pool as they would be eligible for an extended 3-year OPT (instead of 1-year), and this could go a long way in solving for the accountant shortage in the US.
